Vietnam's first-ever elevated monorail system opened its doors as a permanent installation at Da Nang Asia Park on January 1, 2016. 

The 1.8-kilometre single-lane loop, the most modern of its kind in Vietnam, provides passengers with a smooth and pleasant ride.

Eight Intamin P6/66 monorails with 11 cabins each serve as a transport mean among three stations at the park as well as provide sightseeing tours for up to 2,000 passengers per hour.  The new system uses eco-friendly, renewable and clean energy technologies. Every monorail is equipped with a modern audio system with the aim of providing all the comfort services to passengers. 

The Asia Park covers on an area of 88 hectares along the western bank of the Han River at Hoa Cuong Bac Ward in Hai Chau District. The park comprises sports and cultural areas while the cultural area will be divided into nine sections representing nine Asian countries displaying replicas of famous architectural works and typical landscapes from Japan, India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, China, Nepal and Vietnam.  Once completed, the park is expected to welcome about 2.5 million visitors each year.
